Easter Beyond Sunday
For many of us, Easter Sunday comes and goes in a whirlwind of early morning services, joyful worship, family gatherings, and maybe a well-earned afternoon nap. We celebrate the resurrection with full hearts—but then Monday comes. The excitement fades, and life moves on.
But what if Easter wasn’t just a one-day event? What if the resurrection of Jesus wasn’t only a historical moment to remember but a daily reality to live?
The truth of Easter is not meant to be boxed into a single Sunday morning celebration. The resurrection of Jesus changes everything. It isn’t just a moment in history; it is the foundation of our faith and the heartbeat of our daily lives. Paul reminds us in Romans 8:11 (CSB), “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you.” The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us.
So, how do we live like Easter people every day?
The Resurrection should change how we see others.
If Jesus conquered sin and death, then no person is beyond His redemption. The resurrection should remind us that grace is for everyone. It should transform how we extend forgiveness, offer kindness, and love people—even the difficult ones. Living as Easter people means seeing others through the lens of resurrection hope, believing that God is still writing their story.
The Resurrection should shape how we face difficulties.
Because Jesus walked out of the grave, suffering and struggle are not the final word. We will experience hardship, but the resurrection declares that hope is never lost. Paul said, “We do not grieve like the rest, who have no hope” (1 Thess. 4:13). Living in the power of the resurrection means facing trials with confidence that Christ’s victory is already secured.
The Resurrection should fuel our spiritual growth.
New life in Christ isn’t just about eternity—it starts now. Every day is an opportunity to grow in faith, to put sin to death, and to walk in the Spirit. Resurrection power enables us to live differently, with courage, purpose, and joy.
Easter isn’t just a Sunday—it’s our way of life. Let’s not leave the empty tomb behind once Sunday passes. Instead, let’s live in the light of the resurrection, embracing its power in every conversation, every trial, and every step of faith. Because Jesus is alive, so are we—today, tomorrow, and forever.
