Holy Week is a sacred journey that brings us closer to the heart of the gospel. From the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to the sorrow of the cross on Good Friday, and ultimately to the glory of the empty tomb on Easter Sunday, this week is filled with profound moments of reflection. Each day draws us deeper into the mystery of God’s redemptive plan.
This reading guide invites you to walk intentionally through each day, pausing for Scripture, reflection, and prayer. Whether you’re reading alone, with your family, or in community, may these passages lead you to a deeper understanding of Jesus’ sacrifice and the victory He secured.

Let this series guide you through the significance of each day of Holy Week, deepening your understanding of Christ’s journey from the cross to the resurrection.
Palm Sunday: The Triumphal Entry
Matthew 21:9 – “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”
Jesus enters Jerusalem as a humble King, but the people misunderstand His mission. He isn’t coming to meet our expectations—He’s coming to fulfill His greater purpose. Will we surrender our plans and trust His?
Zechariah 9:9 – “Look, your King is coming to you; He is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey.”
Jesus is the King we need, not always the King we expect. True faith means worshiping Him for who He is, not just for what we want Him to do.
Holy Monday: Worshiping with a Surrendered Heart
Matthew 21:13 – “My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of thieves!”
Jesus doesn’t just call us to worship—He calls us to worship rightly. He desires our hearts, not just our rituals. What in our lives needs to be overturned so He can take His rightful place?
Psalm 139:23-24 – “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.”
True worship is not about appearances; it’s about a heart fully surrendered to God. Let Him clear out what is not of Him, so that your life may become a house of prayer.
Holy Tuesday: Kingdom Living
Luke 20:25 – “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”
Jesus sees through every attempt to trap Him. He isn’t interested in politics or popularity—He is here to establish a Kingdom that will never end. Do we align ourselves with His Kingdom, or with what is convenient?
Matthew 22:37-39 – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind… Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Jesus sums up the entire law in two commands: Love God. Love people. If we are following Him, our lives will reflect both.
Holy Wednesday: The Cost of Worship
Matthew 26:15 – “What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?”
Judas traded Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Mary poured out expensive perfume at His feet. One clutched greed; the other surrendered in worship. Who do we reflect in our response to Jesus?
John 12:3 – “Then Mary took a pound of perfume, pure and expensive nard, anointed Jesus’ feet, and wiped His feet with her hair.”
Worship is costly. Surrender is extravagant. Jesus is worthy of it all. What are we still holding back from Him?
Maundy Thursday: Serving with Humility
John 13:14-15 – “If I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.”
Jesus kneels before His disciples—not as a servant, but as a King who serves. He calls us to love, to serve, and to humble ourselves. True leadership begins with surrender.
Luke 22:42 – “Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me—nevertheless, not My will, but Yours be done.”
Jesus chose the cross before He carried it. In Gethsemane, He surrendered completely to the Father’s will. Where is God calling us to pray, ‘Not my will, but Yours be done’?
Good Friday: The Ultimate Sacrifice
Isaiah 53:5 – “He was pierced because of our rebellion, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on Him, and we are healed by His wounds.”
Jesus took what we deserved so that we could receive what we never could earn—grace. The cross is not just a moment of suffering; it is the ultimate display of love.
John 19:30 – “It is finished.”
Three words that changed everything. Sin is defeated. Death is broken. Jesus’ sacrifice was enough—once and for all.
Silent Saturday: Waiting with Hope
Psalm 130:5 – “I wait for the Lord; I wait and put my hope in His word.”
Silent Saturday is the space between heartbreak and hope. God is still working, even when it feels like nothing is happening. Hold on—resurrection is coming.
Lamentations 3:26 – “It is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”
Just because we don’t see God moving doesn’t mean He isn’t. Our waiting is not wasted. His promises are never empty.
Easter Sunday: The Victory of the Resurrection
Matthew 28:6 – “He is not here. He has risen, just as He said!”
The tomb is empty! Jesus is alive! Because He lives, sin is defeated, hope is alive, and the grave is not the end of our story. Rejoice—resurrection changes everything!
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 – “Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?… Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!”
Because of Easter, we don’t live as prisoners to fear, shame, or despair. We are resurrection people—set free, made new, and called to live in victory!
